Intact Mass Measurement

Overview

An intact mass measurement can be used to provide confirm the sequence of a purified protein or to evaluate the binding of a ligand to a purified protein. In our experience, intact mass measurements are a invaluable in the determination of an unknown antibody sequence.

Steps Involved

• Sample preparation: Dilution of submitted sample or custom buffer exchange.
• LC-MS/MS: 0.5hr LC-MS/MS
• Data analysis: Thermo BioPharma Finder
• Report generation: PDF

The turnaround time is 2-3 weeks.

Deliverables

• Written Report containing details of your samples, our methods and a summary of the data. If the sequence of the target is provided we can compare the calculated average mass with the measured mass. This also presents the opportunity to consider post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation or chemical derivatives i.e. covalently bound small molecules, drugs, dyes etc.
